ENGAGE THE ISLANDS
A SHORT TERM MISSION TRIP WITH A LONG TERM IMPACT
Churches are planted to spread the Gospel and make more disciples of Jesus. What would happen if every member of a church plant core group regularly shared the Gospel with people in their spheres of influence?Statistics show that many Christians never share their faith with anyone. There a number of reasons why, but the number one reason given is "I don't know how." A close second is, "I'm afraid." Mission trips are highly effective training grounds for living on mission in every day life. They challenge us to grow in ways that without being nudged and stretched, we probably wouldn't. More importantly, mission trips expand our view of God and His Spirit-empowered mission, as people are hearing the Gospel and becoming followers of Jesus. Coming Summer 2018, we have a plan to mobilize as many people in Austin as possible to engage people groups on islands in Asia. Many of these people have never heard the good news about Jesus before! This effort is being spear-headed by Antioch Church in Waco, TX but will involve many different churches from across Texas and the US.
